On Friday 18th of November Emily Lamb and I went to the council offices for take over day, this was one day where students from schools surrounding the Bracknell forest area spend a day with executive members of the council.
We spent the day with Councillor Peter Heydon who is the Executive Member for Transformation and Finance. We went with him to several meetings including Simon Hendey (Chief Officer – Housing), Councillor Dale Birch (executive member for adult services health and housing) and the newly appointed treasurer Stuart McKellar with whom we had lunch with at south hill park.
Peter then took us up to the top of Point Royal, we got to look down on the school and Bracknell - which is incredibly pretty and full of trees. At the end of the day we went back to the council chambers and met with everyone else who also took part in take over day and the councillors that they were with, we had a group photo and made our way home. Take over day was great, thank you to Councillor Peter Heydon for having us for the day, Darren Berry who organised the day and Miss Thomas who arranged with the school for us to go.
