Bracknell and Wokingham College Crime Awareness Week
This year’s crime awareness event is being organised using the assignment work produced by the students on the level 3 BTEC Uniformed Public Services Course studying Unit 12 Crime and its effects on Society. Working together both Gold and Purple troop students are organising a ‘Crime and its Effects’ awareness week at the College. This will be in the form of a display of the presentations, posters and leaflets produced as part of the unit assignments to inform college students and staff of relevant issues of crime within our society. The event is being supported by Thames Valley Police, Bracknell Forest Council and Victim Support
One of the main responsibilities within the public services is to supply information support and guidance to the public in relation to crime prevention and victim support services which can be provided.
Neighbourhood Policing Teams regularly organise community events to provide the public with information and advice on crime issues. See http://content.met.police.uk/News/Crime-Prevention-success-for-Campden-SNT-at-the-Town-Hall/1400004427702/1257246741786
A crime theme will be chosen for each day such as ‘Hate Crime’. Student troop members will be present to give pertinent advice on the crime issues displayed and personal safety awareness questionnaire with College students.
The timings for the event to be staffed by college students supported by public service practitioners will be 10.30am to 3.40 pm for the week of 1/12/2014
The venue will be the Star Café Bracknell and Wokingham College
